Jose Presents Articles at the Strategic Management Society Annual Conference
Jose presented two of his papers at the Strategic Management Society Annual Conference. The papers revolve around the idea that people see the world in different ways. In one of the papers, he presents how this diversity affects the way organizations explore uncertain environments. The second paper, co-authored with Chengwei Liu, explores how firms make strategic use of the diversity of points of view to capture value from an already crowded market.
Prof. Adam M. Kleinbaum

Adam Kleinbaum is an Associate Professor in the Strategy and Management area at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He teaches a core MBA course in organizational behavior, an elective seminar on social networks, and a Global Insight Expedition to Israel. Adam shared his newest insights about the neuroscience of social networks with the group.
Georg and Stefano at Strategic Management Society Annual Conference 2020
At this year´s Strategic Management Society Annual Conference Georg presented a joint paper with Stefano on how project-based firms learn about new strategies. The paper explores how learning across multiple levels, that is firm and operational level, as well as multiple domains, that is project, market and strategy, coalesces into the development of new strategies.
Banking Supervision by Dr. Martin Würmseher

Being active as a banking supervisor at FINMA, Martin shared his experiences on job search and public service with the TIM group. Likewise, he explained the particularities in the relationship between FINMA and private banks.
Prof. Carliss Y. Baldwin

Carliss Y. Baldwin is the William L. White Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School. She studies the process of design and its impact of design architecture on firm strategy, platforms, and business ecosystems. In this seminar, Carliss shared her research about a new way of analysing technical systems and their value structures with the TIM group.
Conference about Managing and Leading in the Digital Economy
Anna Deréky co-organized a workshop on the topic of "Managing and Leading in the Digital Economy". This conference is financed by the University of Zürich and the core audience are PhD-students and PostDoc's from the UZH economics department. The goal of the workshop was to outline success factors of digitalization from the perspective of the individual and the organization. It aimed to equip attendees with a mental map of what it will take them to succeed in the digital economy.
Strategic Management Society Celebrating the 40th Annual Meeting
A couple of weeks ago, the Strategic Management Society celebrated its 40th Annual Meeting with its first ever entirely online conference. It was an incredible effort witnessing the effort of the whole community to carry on in these difficult times. Stefano was involved in the conference as Program Chair of the Behavioral Strategy IG. All went well and he now moves on into the role of IG Chair. This is going to be his last year of service to the IG.
Innovation Consulting by Dr. Simge Tuna

Since finishing her PhD at the TIM Group, Simge worked as project manager at Johnson & Johnson and is currently working as Innovation Consultant at Zürich Insurance. She shared some insights about useful innovation models, trending areas and current challenges in the insurance industry with us.
Prof. Özgecan Koçak

Being an Associate Professor of Organization & Management at Goizueta Business School (Emory University), Özgecan Koçak presented her paper “Separated by a common language: Code Clashes and Convergence in Organizations” in this OnMaRS. After the seminar, we had one on one meetings with Özgecan Koçak and finished the day with a common apéro.
Symposium for the Academy of Management
Last month, Xavier Mundet and Axel Zeijen organised a symposium at the Academy of Management Conference. Part of the symposium were Kathy Eisenhardt, Rahul Kapoor and Mahka Mooen and the topic was about ecosystems and emerging technologies.
