Daniella Elected Associate Program Chair to the Behavioral Strategy IG of the Strategic Management Society
The members of the Behavioral Strategy IG elected our colleague Daniella Laureiro Martínez to the Chair track. Daniella will be part of the IG’s leadership team for 3 years: first as Associate Program Chair, then Program Chair, and finally as IG Chair. The purpose of the interest groups and communities within the SMS is to act as a catalyst for building and disseminating new ideas in research, practice, and teaching around a set of core issues in strategic management. Congratulations Daniella!
TIM Group Visits Milan
The TIM Group took chance of a PhD-Workshop organized with the Department of Management Technology of Bocconi University to explore the beautiful city of Milan. On the program was a visit of the Duomo, Teatro alla Scala as well as Fondazione Prada. We all enjoyed this super cool trip!
Bocconi - ETH Zürich PhD Workshop on Technology Management
In the context of the TIM Group's 10-year anniversary, the TIM Group and Department of Management and Technology of Bocconi University held a PhD-Workshop in Milan. The workshop included eight different presentations subdivided into the sessions of "Strategy and Innovation", "Decision-Making" and "Technology and Market Structure". The workshop led to many useful insights on both sides and ended with a common apero close to the Bocconi campus.
A Paper of Anja and Monique Accepted in the Journal of Social Economy and Common Welfare
Anja Niedworok, Monique Bolli and Martin Gutmann got a paper accepted in the Journal of Social Economy and Common Welfare. The paper has the title: Tackling ill-structured problems with cooperatives. A proposal for further research and application in a special call about “A new era for Cooperatives”. In this paper, they argue that cooperatives are particularly well-equipped to solve ill-structured problems.
Daniella and Ann Present at the Yale Computational Social Science Workshop
Daniella and Ann hold a joint presentation with the title "An Attention Perspective on How Managers Deal with Multiple Goals" at the Computational Social Science Workshop of Yale University. After the presentation, both had the chance to discuss their work with five researchers from the Yale School of Management.
TIM Group at the Roche Digital InnovationLAB
Prof. Stefano Brusoni and Xavier Mundet visited Roche’s Digital InnovationLAB. The exchange was organized by Ricardo Altmann, TIM alumni and currently Business Development Lead at the Digital InnovationLAB. Together with Alberto Tomatis (Director of the Digital InnovationLAB) and his team, Stefano and Xavier had an exchange about opportunities and challenges of accessing external innovation. The visit concluded with a group picture at the “famous” Roche Pebbles lounge.
Dr. Dietmar Röttger and James O'Neil teaching the Course “Leading the Technology-Driven Enterprise"
Dr. Dietmar Röttger and James O'Neil spent two days with 24 MAS students on the course “Leading the Technology-Driven Enterprise” (LTDE). More than 90% of the students confirmed that it is mostly or absolutely true that the framework was key to transfer LTDE content into tangible outcomes for their individual situation. A big success!
Daniella Wins Research Grant Supported by the Leading House for the Latin American Region of the University of St.Gallen
Daniella won a research grant with the title "Sustainability Outliers: Learning from Leaders about How to Define and Reconcile Goals in Highly Conflicting Environments". This grant is provided by the Leading House for Latin America at the University of St. Gallen. Congratulations Daniella!!
Daniella at DRUID Debate 2021
Landslide victory of Daniella Laureiro and Henry Sauermann (ESMT Berlin) at the DRUID Debate Conference in Copenhagen. Daniella and Henry argued against the motion questioning the value of lab experiments. After an intense 90 minutes debate, a very skeptic audience of scholars was persuaded to appreciate the usefulness of lab experiments for promoting scientific progress in the innovation, entrepreneurship and strategy field.
Congratulations to Savindu for an Outstanding MSc-Thesis and GPA!
After supporting the TIM Group as a long-time research assistant, Savindu Herath Pathirannehelage graduated from MTEC (ETHZ) at the end of September and this with the grade 6 in his MSc-Thesis and a GPA of 5.8 (out of 6)!!! Congratulations Savindu, VEEERY well done!:-)
