Technical Program Management by Fernando Duran

Fernando has a Master from Copenhagen Business School. We had the pleasure of working with him during his Master thesis and then later as a research assistant. His interest was (back then) to explore the relationships between time preferences and creativity. He then went on to work at Google and is now a technical program manager. In our chat, Fernando told us about his responsibilites and interests, intrapreneurial opportunities as well as collaboration and its challenges at Google.
Dr. Marieke Buffing about her Start-up Company
Marieke completed her PhD at ETH in molecular drug discovery and in 2018 founded her company IMPROVATE. Her company aims at consulting research groups and highly educated employees for reaching their full potential. In this role, she is leading courses on inter- and intrapersonal transferable skills on e.g. group dynamics, creative ideation, and diplomacy. We very much enjoyed to learn about her views on having impact!

He holds many role; he is Director Emeritus and Senior Advisor at McKinsey & Company, Member of Executive Education Committee at the University of St.Gallen, Board Member, Author and Advisor on leadership, executive education, strategy and organisational change. In his talk, Claudio shared his thoughts and experience on professional as well as personal development and its link with the creation of impact for society.
Dr. Hubert Annen (MILAK) about the Role of Psychology in the Swiss Armed Forces

Hubert is the head of military psychology and military pedagogy studies at the Swiss Military Academy (MILAK) since over 20 years and explains the group how the Swiss Armed Forces use psychological theory and methods to uphold organisational readyness and prepare its members for future challenges. Fields of particular relevance for Swiss military psychology are the assessment and training of military decision-makers on the level of militia and professional officers.
Dr. Emily Elsener (TIM Group) about Entrepreneurship and Consulting for the Common Good

For the last 6 years, Emily has worked as a co-founder to Capacity, a refugee and migrant startup incubator, and consultant in impact measurement and evaluation. In the her talk at the TIM Group, she explored what connects these diverse experiences, and how impact in its broadest sense is becoming a new buzzword/concept for those concerned about the state of society, and our relationship with our planet.
