Research
My research focuses on architectural capabilities—how firms design, manage, and control interdependencies in product systems. This is a very relevant topic to me, especially since we’re witnessing how digital technologies are reshaping component interactions, thereby challenging the capabilities firms need to design products. In this context, I take a specific look at the role played by (product) control systems.
I analyze different data (e.g. patent data) using network analysis, text analysis and machine learning. Additionally, I am exploring theory-building approaches like simulation modeling.
My work focuses on firms both in developed and underdeveloped regions, where I try to contribute towards an increased understanding of pushing the technological frontier, as well as catching up to it.
Background
I joined the TIM group as a doctoral student in February 2024. I hold a BBA in International Business from Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, and a MSc in Innovation Sciences from Utrecht University. I have interned and worked at start-ups in mobility and financial technology, as well as at a non-profit aimed at supporting young people with a refugee background through art.
